What people ask us

What does Aftersupported Roofing actually do?

Aftersupported Roofing is a referral service. We do not do roofing work. We connect homeowners in Cleveland and the Cleveland area with independent local roofing contractors in our network. You describe the problem, and a provider reaches out. Any work, pricing and scheduling is agreed directly between you and that provider. Think of us as the dispatcher who knows who to ring, so you search less.

How do I know if I need a new roof or just a repair?

Look at age and spread. A few missing shingles on a young roof usually point to a repair. Widespread curling, bald patches, or repeated leaks on an older roof often point to replacement. Sagging is a warning sign. A local provider can inspect the roof and explain both options. Ask for the findings in writing so you can compare.

What should I do first if my roof is leaking?

Protect your belongings first. Move items away from the drip and set out a bucket. Take clear photos of the damage and any stains. Then call a provider about emergency roof repair rather than waiting. Request a callback to check provider availability. A small leak is cheaper and simpler to fix than one that has soaked insulation and ceilings.

How much does a roof replacement cost?

Costs vary a lot by roof size, pitch, materials and tear-off needs. In the U.S., a typical asphalt shingle replacement often runs several thousand dollars up to well into five figures for larger or complex roofs. Metal and slate cost more. Treat any number here as a rough range only, and always ask each provider for a quote in writing.

Will insurance pay for hail or storm damage?

Some policies may cover sudden damage from hail or wind, but coverage depends on your plan, deductible and the cause of damage. Check your policy and contact your insurer. Providers can often help document damage with photos and notes for a claim. For hail damage roof replacement, ask the provider what paperwork they can supply. Nothing here is a promise of coverage.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Many standard homes take a few days once work starts. Bungalows and ranch homes with simple rooflines can go faster. Larger, steeper or multi-layer roofs take longer. Weather matters too, especially in stormy or wet stretches. Material lead times can also add days. Ask the provider for a schedule and what could change it.

Can cold winters and humid summers shorten my roof's life?

Yes. Deep frost and freeze-thaw cycles can lift shingles and crack seals. Hot, humid summers can speed up wear and encourage moss or algae. Severe thunderstorms and hail add impact damage. Clear gutters, trim nearby branches, and check the roof each spring and fall. Catching a small problem early keeps repair bills smaller.

What happens when I call or request an estimate?

Request a callback or send the request form. Share your address area, the problem and any photos. A provider in our network then contacts you to talk through the job and set up a visit. You review the quote in writing. There is no obligation to hire anyone, and you can compare more than one local roofing contractor.
